Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

SessionGuard is a Chrome extension that keeps legal research platform sessions alive. This policy explains exactly what data the extension collects, how it is used, and what it never does.

What we collect

SessionGuard collects and stores the following data, entirely within your browser using chrome.storage.local:

This data never leaves your browser except as described in "Third-party services" below.

What we never collect

How keepalives work

SessionGuard monitors outgoing network requests on supported platforms to detect which URL the platform uses for session activity. Once detected, the extension replays that same request — using cookies and authentication tokens already present in your browser session — at your configured interval. No credentials are stored or transmitted by the extension. The request is identical to one your browser would send during normal use.

Third-party services

SessionGuard server (api.sessionguard.io)
When activating a Pro subscription, the extension sends your email address to our server solely to verify that an active subscription exists. No other data is sent. The server returns a yes/no response and does not log your request beyond standard server access logs.

Stripe
Pro subscriptions are processed by Stripe. When you subscribe, you are redirected to a Stripe-hosted checkout page. We never see or store your payment card details. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

Google Fonts
The extension popup loads display fonts from Google Fonts. This is a stylesheet request; no personal data is included. Google's privacy policy applies to this request.

Data retention

All locally stored data (endpoints, preferences, stats, license) can be cleared at any time by removing the extension or clearing extension storage. If you cancel your Pro subscription, your local license record will reflect your current subscription status the next time it is verified.

Children

SessionGuard is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
